Various was in the Kpoppin studio for Be My Super Star with DJ Isak. Various (베리어스) is a girl group that debuted in 2016 under Cowl Entertainment.

– According to the members, Donga is the most passionate about everything.
– They gone from 5 members to 4 members since their debut.
– Heesoo says Donga has a smile that she practices. There was a time when they were performing and Donga’s nail got caught in her heel and it was sore and bleeding but she never stopped smiling and finished the performance.
– Taein wants Donga’s part in Shadow. She has been eyeing hat part ever since she was first shown the song.
– Doyoung loves to talk even with herself.
– According to Taein, Heesoo would be he one to survive if she were ever stranded by herself.
– Doyoung was voted the most diverse member that is prefect for variety shows.
– Heesoo says if she were a guy she’d want to date Doyoung, because she is so cute.
– They would like to go on a world tour starting with Korea then moving of the rest of Asia then the rest of the world.

A: It’s a girly but sexy track thy believe shows each of their charms.

Chungha (청하)

Chungha was in the SuperKpop studio for K-Star & Live with DJ Sam. Chungha (청하) debuted in 2017 and is under MNH Entertainment.

Tidbits::
– Participated in survivor audition show Produce 101, and made it into the final project group IOI (아이오아이).
– Her birthday is Feb. 09, which is the same day the Pyeongchang Olympics start. She says he will celebrate the olympics instead of her birthday.
– She speaks very good English.
– Chungha likes spicy rice cakes, and so far she can eat everything but frogs. She says frogs aren’t a can’t eat thing but she hasn’t tried them
– She says she will be forever afraid of frogs, because one scared her when she used to near the mountains.
– The first thing Chungha does when she gets home is take off h makeup and put on her pajamas.
– In the future Chungha would like to try a modern rock song. She doesn’t want to be weighed down by a genre or afraid to try different genres.
– She is the type of person a go with the flow and take things as they come.
– Chungha wants to do a stage with Sunmi.
– She says the year just started so she doesn’t have a resolution for the year. However, she hopes to work on new music this year.

Q: Is there any variety shows you want to be on?
A: She should says would like to be on any variety show that wants her, she will go. She would like to go to the jungle.

A: Her first fan meeting is Feb. 03, 2018.

Yang Dail (양다일)

Yang Dail was in the Kpoppin’ studio for Be My Super Star with DJ Isak. Yang Dail (양다일) debuted in 2016 and is under Brand New Music.

Tidbits::
– Dail is considered a power vocalist.
– On a regular day he would be asleep during Kpoppin. He doesn’t usually wake up until 6pm/7pm.
– He had a full length album ready a couple years but it was never released. He started a fresh full album process after he released his last single in 2017.
– Dail is into webtoon writing, and has thought of a nickname for that. He wouldn’t tell what that nickname is, because he is seriously considering becoming a published webtoon writer, and doesn’t want Webtoon Yang Dail to be weighed down by Singer Yang Dail.
– He snorted when he chuckled during the interview.
– If he was going to propose marriage to a special someone in the future he would probably sing to her.
– He has never sung a song to previous girlfriend, because he feels like the Singer Yang Dail would in the relationship and not the Everyday Plain Yang Dail.
– ‘잘 지내고 있는 거니 (Won’t You Say It)’ is not necessarily his favorite song, but he was very honest with himself when he wrote it, and listening to the song made him cry.
– Dail’s ideal type is similar to the main character in Vanilla Sky, spontaneous, but knows where they want to go in life.
– After a break-up he has never called an ex to see how they are doing, or if they were awake yet.
– Dail doesn’t like hearing the compliment that he sings well. However, he was surprised and happy after releasing Inside that people would come up to him and say that none of the songs on the album could be thrown out; that all the song were good.
– Lies annoy him, especially the little white lies. He will call them out on it if he catches someone doing it. For example when someone just comes out of the shower but will tell the person waiting for them that they are on their way. When really they’re running late.
– He likes to stay home and play online and console games in his free time.
– Dail has never met any of his previous girlfriends through friends or blind dates.

Q & A::
Q: What can you tell us about the album, and how did you come up with the album title, Inside?
A: Inside comes from all the feelings he had inside after a break-up. He wrote 80 songs for the album, but only 11 made the cut. Not all the songs on the album are break-up songs. The non-break-up songs are not radio edit acceptable.

Q: How did you come up with the English title for ?
A: He was torn between 미안해 (sorry) and 걱정말 (lie). There are lots of songs in Korea titled 걱정말 (lie), and he choose 미안해 (sorry) because he wanted people to be able to lookup Sorry and see his song. He has strong feelings toward the word Lie and wanted the two words to together. So, he made the Korean title 미안해 and the English title Lie.

Q: Future plans or the year?
A: In March he has a concert schedule, and he is as jumping into his next album.

Long D (롱디)

Long D was in the Kpoppin’ studio for Be My Super Rookie with DJ Isak. Long D (롱디) is a duo group that debuted in 2015 under Munhwain (문화인).

Han Minse (한민세) -Producer
Minshark (민샥) – Vocalist

Tidbits::
– They call thir style Timone and Pumba.
– Before Long D, Minshark mostly did ballads.
– They are both fans of Produce 101 season 1.
– Long D used to share a studio, but now they have their own studios. They don’t meet up and just talk about the music randomly. If Minse records a melody and he sends it o Minshark; if Minshark likes it then they will get together and talk about it.
– They would like to feature with Twice.
– Minshark and Minse agreed that Minshark would fail miserably at a long distance relationship.
– They say the best way to listen to the album is backwards going from the 6th track to the 1st.
– Minse wrote a song for Produce 101 thinking of one of the contestants that they believe has an amazing voice.
– Minhark and Minse don’t meet up with each other outside of work. They say they meet up so much for work they have no reason to meet up outside of work.
– They don’t consider either of them more detailed than they other. They are both detailed, but in different ways.
– Minse will notice from one day to the next if something changed about a friends appearance.
– According to Minshark, the reason Minse is so skinny is that he will put his chopsticks or fork own after barely eating anything.

Q & A::
Q: Where does Long D come from?
A: In Korea when talking about long distance relationships they abbreviate it and say Long D.

Q: How did you guys meet?
A: Minse saw Minshark on The Voice Korea, and immediately looked him up on SNS and sent him a DM. It took Minshark two months to reply, because he was going through a tough time in his music career.

Q: What inspired you to go into music?
A: Minshark when he was younger he heard a song that made him cry. He thought he would be great to make music that could move someone’s motions.
– Minse – when he was job hunting he had nothing to put in the hobbies section. So, he decided to start making music as a hobby so he could put something in the hobbies section of his job application.

Q: What kind of boyfriend are you?
A: When Minshark falls in love he falls head over heels. He is very hands on in relationships, and has to go see his girlfriend whenever he misses her. He will neglect friends and focus all his time and energy on his girlfriend.

Kim Mokin (김목인)

Kim Mokin was in the SuperKpop studio for Music Stage with DJ Sam. Kim Mokin (김목인) debuted in 2002 and is currently under Electric Muse.

Tidbits::
– For new years he went to his hometown to spend time with his family.
– He drew the cover art for his album, 콜라보 씨의 일일 (Collabo’s Everyday).
– When he is bored he really likes going to second bookstores.
– It hasn’t snowed much in South Korea but he I’d build a small snowman.
– He first got into music when his grandfather bought him a piano when he was 7.
– The song titles are part of a story and should be listened to in order.
– Debuted as a participant of Family Piano project. This project was an album with no lyrics and all music.
– He first starting sing when he was part of a co-ed group, where if you wrote a song you had to sing it.

Q: Can you describe your recent album 콜라보 씨의 일일 (Collabo’s Everyday)?
A: The main character of the album is Collabo. He is someone who does many different things. From the first song to the last song he goes through several daily life activities.

Theatre8 was in the SuperKpop studio for Music Stage with DJ Sam. Theatre8 (제8극장) debuted in 2008 under Tripper Sound (트리퍼 사운드).

– They have not had a Christmas off in 10 years, and this past Christmas they were busy doing a show.
– Sangwook lived in Seoul by himself, and Seulgichan asked if he could live with him. Sangwook asked him how long he wanted to stay and Seulgichan said about a month but he is still living with him. Now all the members live together.
– Their goal for 2018 is releasing their 4th album. When? They don’t know, whenever they finish it.
– They have fallen off stage before, but they don’t consider it embarrassing.
– They would like to do a show in Leon, France.
– 오늘부터 1일 (love from today) was written for a friends wedding. They loved it so much they put it into the album.

Q & A::
Q: What does the group name, Theatre8, mean?
A: It doesn’t really have a meaning, however, the 8 comes from China, and is considered a lucky number.

Q: What can you tell us about 크리스마스 특선영화 (Christmas Special Movie)?
A: It is the first Christmas theme song they’ve made. The only thing that came to mind was how Christmas is done in other countries. Those thoughts played like a personal movie in their head and they wanted to portray that with this song.

Q: Why do you sing 별헤는 밤 + 꿈의 방 ( Understanding the stars + Dream Room) together?
A: The last song (꿈의 방 (Dream Room)) on the album is a continuation of the first song (별헤는 밤 (Understanding the stars)). It is recommended that they are listened to in order.

ICIA were in the SoundK studio for You Who Came from the Stars with DJ Leah. ICIA (아이시어) debuted in 2016 under DAM Entertainment.

– ‘새드 힐 (Sad Heel)’ is about a girl who tries to dress up and have fun, but she can’t because she’s still thinking about her ex-boyfriend.
– Hyokyung claims she has the sexiest body in the group.
– When Nayoon first saw Hali she thought she was a Sunbae actress.
– Riae bought her mom a supercar with money she earned working as an MC for a Chinese supermodel contest.
– A fan called in during the interview and Riae thought his voice was sexy. He had been a fan since 2015 and they were all excited to be speaking to a fan on the phone for the first time.
– In college, Nayoon was in a commercial.
– Hali and Hyokyung are the same age, but when they first met Hyokyung wasn’t comfortable with her for about a month.
– They have a special performance they only do when they go to military bases, where they rip their skirts.
– According to the members, Riae is really fast on her fast.
– Hali got her license to be a hairstylist when she was 16, but according to the members and herself, she’s not good at it.
– Nayoon studied aboard to learn English but was sad that when she went back to Korea she started forgetting her English, so she enrolled in a class to stay refreshed.
– They want to visit Switzerland because they have been getting a lot of love letters from fans there.
– Hyokyung loves her DJ-ing equipment. Her DJ name is DJ DoYou. Her music style is EDM (electric style).
– Nayoon will talk to animals that are a distance away and not looking at her, trying to get their attention.
– Riae’s dog, Buch, is 2 years old. She bought him thinking he was a Pomeranian, but he kept growing so now she thinks he is a mix.
– The aegyo member is Nayoon.

Q & A::
Q: What does ICIA mean?
A: The name was decided by their boss. It represents the feeling of tasting something sweet and sour and never forgetting that taste. They want their music to be like that as well.

Q: What are your hopes for the new year?
A: They want to become better known, so they can have fan meetings, concerts, and be part of the end year performances. They also wanted to become well known so that when they walk down the street people she is ICIA.

Kim Younggeun (김영근)

Kim Younggeun was in the Kpoppin’ studio for Be My Super Rookie with DJ Isak. Kim Younggeun (김영근) debuted in 2017 under CJ Entertainment.

Tidbits::
– He was the Superstar K 2016 winner.
– He is a member of Deepkiss.
– Younggeun tries not to, but every once in awhile he’ll scroll down and see the comments.
– If he could only eat one dish for the rest of his life it would be ramen, especially if he could still be healthy.
– He would like to go to Venice and sing to fans on the gondolas.
– Singing the hook of a Hiphop song is something he would like to do.
– Before going on stage he chants to himself that he can do it. Then he shakes himself out of his tension so he can go on stage and perform.
-He is not sure but he thinks the lock screen on his phone is a picture of his crew. He put a picture there and hasn’t paid attention to it since.
– When it comes to his voice sleep is very important to him, along with A hot shower.
– Younggeun has weak vocal cords so he doesn’t talk unless he has to, but he makes sure his throat stays moist for when he needs to talk or sing.

Q: What was it that made you want to do music.
A: When he was 6 is mom sent him to learn how to play the piano. If he heard a song he would start playing the melody on the piano. He would always are with “singer” when asked what he wanted to be.

– They were formerly known as Black Queen.
– Whenever they go to the karaoke rooms they always sing 2NE1’s Lonely.
– Jandi has a habit of not wearing socks when she’s outside.
– They changed their name to Hey Girls in December 2017.
– According to Jandi; Siyun, Heesoo, and Jandi are the dancers of the group. She describes their dance style as Siyun – Cute; Heesoo – Sexy; Jandi – Powerful.
– Jandi wears red DJ headphone.
– Daeun really loves her phone.
– Siyun was in the 9th class in high school.
– Their boss’ sons name is Lee Hyungsuk. (This was Heesoo’s speed quiz question to the members.)
– Daeun wants to be a president, just because she has always wanted to live in a building as grand as the White House or Blue House. She wants to try the food there and see if it’s really good.
– They are special ambassadors for Olympics. They are looking forward to cheering for the Korean Bobsledding team.
– Heesoo wants to live as Jandi’s dog Mandu for a week because Mandu’s life is so easy. Mandu gets food, water, bathed, and when she pees/poops its taken care.
– Siyun wants to try breaking her habit of eating a lot of trips.
– Daeun has a habit of staring off into space, not hinting of anything. This is something she noticed about herself after watching herself on TV shows.

Q & A::
Q: How is the Hey Girls image different from Black Queen?
A: Hey Girls is a more friendly girl next door image. With the addition of the maknae, Daeun, they changed their image to be more innocent.

Q: What is 너 아니면 NO (No one but you) about?
A: The song is about a girl telling a guy that it has to be him. The has two meanings ‘No one but you’ and ‘Only you.’ They choreographed the dance themselves. The main point being the bodies reaction to them putting a spell on you (wave dance).

Q: Why did you want to become a singer?
A: Jandi – always wanted to be a performer, she would audition and always got rejected until she became part of dance group Black Queen. Then she realized she didn’t just want to dance on stage she also wanted to sing on stage.

– Siyun – discovered after becoming a backup dancer that it wasn’t dancing she enjoyed but getting people attention. So, she wanted to become a singer.

– Heesoo – said she feels the same as Siyun.

– Daeun – being a vocalist her process was a bit different, she just did auditions and got in.
